Smoky Black Bean Soup

Serves: 8

Hearty and smoky


  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 ½ celery ribs, chopped

  • 1 carrot, sliced

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 tsp cumin


  • 1 jalapeno, diced

  • 2 cans black bean dip

  • 1 container of FRESH IS BEST BLACK BEAN DIP

  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

  • ½ container of FRESH IS BEST SALSA


  1. Add olive oil to a big pot over medium heat. Sauté onions, celery, carrots, and garlic until soft.

  2. Add in cumin, FRESH IS BEST TACO SEASONING, FRESH IS BEST BLACK BEAN DIP, broth, black beans, and FRESH IS BEST SALSA. Mix well. Cook for 30 minutes.

  3. When finished cooking, remove half off the bean mixture from the pot. Blend beans till smooth. Add pureed beans back into the pot and stir. Reheat the soup.

  4. Top with sour cream and cilantro. Serve with FRESH IS BEST TORTILLA CHIPS or bread.
